American with Diabetes climbs Mount Everest

“Will Cross became the first American with diabetes to summit Mount Everest, the highest point on earth on which a human can walk without supplemental oxygen.With this achievement, Cross, a 39-year-old father of six from Pittsburgh sponsored by NovoLog® (insulin aspart [rDNA origin] injection), became the first in the world with diabetes to climb the highest mountain on each of the seven continents and trek to the North and South Poles, a multi-year odyssey known as the NovoLog® Peaks and Poles Challenge.
He reached the summit at approximately 5:10 a.m. local time.”
