Diabetes up 20% in Australia
Posted on: Wednesday, August 30th, 2006 at 4:35 pmHere are some even more unfortunate statistics as apparently diabetes diagnosis in hospitals have gone up 20% between 2000 and 2004:
“Between the years 2000 and 2004, hospital admissions for diabetes were up by 20 percent, according to the report released Wednesday by the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare.”
They make an interesting connection between diabetes and the remoteness of some of the residents. But taking a look at the situation it may be likely those in extremely remote regions don’t have access to the best or freshest food and don’t maintain the best eating habits.
